Chapter Fourteen

“You ready to do this, Khlo?” Meko asked as the driver ushered them in front of Carmelo Ricci’s estate.

“As ready as I’ll ever be,” she answered.

“Well, lets go make history cuz they say this fat fuck don’t really do business with us Mulianos. Meko laughed.

The chauffeur helped them out of their car and the estate manager escorted them out on the terrace where Carmelo and his sons were waiting. They greeted each of the Corleones with a firm hand shake and Khloe with a kiss to the hand.

“So, I am finally meeting the infamous Black Corleones of Chicago. You know Corleone is a Italian name, right?” Carmelo said.

“It is. Our fallen brother picked the name from his love of the Godfather.” Seven answered.

“Yes, a great American classic; although a bit embellished.”

“Surely you didn’t fly us all the way out to New Jersey to talk about movies, did you?” Meko said, bringing the conversation back to the purpose of their trip.

“Wow, relax we are simply getting a feel for one another. Business without friendship is boring.”

“Business is business, nothing personal but we don’t do mix friendship with business.” Meko said.

“Maybe I can put it in more diplomatic terms. Although we appreciate your extended hand and hospitality we came here for business and would like to conduct our business and get back home. I’m sure you are a friendly guy, but mixing business with pleasure is not a good mix, and surely a fine business man like yourself could understand that.” Khloe interrupted.

“Your girlfriend here is pretty wise. I didn’t know the women in Chicago sat in on meetings of this caliber.” Carmelo joked.

“She isn’t my girlfriend; she’s actually my business partner and head of the Black Corleones.” Meko quickly corrected him.

“This pretty little thing, are you breaking my balls Meko?” Carmelo asked.

“Listen, Mr. Ricci, we can go back and forth all day with the small talk but we came here to discuss business and my partners and I for one would like to get to what we came here for, if you don’t mind?” Khloe interrupted.

“Well, in this case why don’t we get down to business. I heard a lot about you and the work you’re doing and I think you’re the crew to handle what I need.” Carmelo explained.

“So, what are we talking in terms of numbers Mr. Ricci?” Meko asked.

“Well, here’s how it’s going to work. I’m going to supply you with my product at ten thousand a kilo, I’ll make sure it is transported to you at my expense and you’ll send me a return on time.” Carmelo told them.

“How much and how often are we talking?” Seven cut in.

“Fifty to one hundred kilos as often as you can move them.”

“Moving them won’t be an issue but ten thousand a kilo isn’t quite conducive for us and our operation, because frankly we’ll be assuming most of the risk and I can assure you we can get things moving, and quickly. So being that we are potentially going to make you millions of dollars, I think a lower per kilo price would suffice my crew and I.
